Post-consumer plastic bottles are collected instead of being sent to landfill or oceans. By recycling these bottles, we help reduce long-term plastic waste that can take 450–1000 years to break down..
The bottles are cleaned, crushed and shredded into small pieces. These flakes are then melted down to create recycled polyester material - using significantly less energy than producing virgin plastic.
The melted recycled polyester is extruded into fine fibres, which are then spun into durable yarn. This recycled yarn conserves energy and natural resources compared to creating new polyester.
The recycled yarn is woven into durable upholstery fabric. Every metre of fabric uses the equivalent of at least four 750ml plastic bottles, helping turn waste into something long-lasting and purposeful.
